Give a Teddy Bear to a sick

Theodore Roosevelt Association
Teddy Bears for Kids Program
Theodore Roosevelt is known as the "Father of the Teddy Bear". Here’s why. In 1902, an illustration by famous political cartoonist Clifford K. Berryman portrayed "TR" refusing to shoot a bear. For more than 100 years, Berryman's cartoon has prompted a frenzy of teddy bear toys that continues to this day.
The Theodore Roosevelt Association started the Teddy Bears for Kids Program in 1986 with only one goal – let’s help make sick children smile and feel safe. The Association, a national historic organization chartered by an Act of Congress in 1920, is dedicated to keeping alive the legacy of our nation's 26th President. What a wonderful way to carry forward TR’s name and his connection to the Teddy Bear!
